Automation but diversity creation of products is the trend for design+technology innovation. Robotic arm is one of powerful devices by connecting the diverse materials including bio-organic and non-organic materials to a new product. In this workshop, we are using bio-organic materials for generating a dynamic but symbiotic form. With exploring the inner structure of bio-organic and additive fabrication mechanism, we can then generate a type of symbiotic structure.

Participants will explore how material complexity affects form through the integration of robotic arms and parametric design tools. This method will control robotic arm to dip a rod in melt material continuely. Controlling the timing of material’s solidifying and places of dip- pings precisely, the structure on the head of the rod will accumulate gradually.
