The current potentials in manufacturing of irregular double curved shapes with concrete are limited by two main factors: the expensive production of concrete formwork and the complex forming of reinforcement steel. This research focuses on forming technologies as a new approach to additive manufacturing. By the use of a prototype machine for wire bending and different forming techniques with robots, this research will proof future strategies for forming scenarios of reinforcement steel on construction site. The aim of this cluster is the production of reinforcement at a scale, which can be used for fabrication of ambitious design forms. These techniques will also be proved for new applications such as manufacturing of artwork and design furniture.
